Sower
Krater hosts »the first civil construction crane«.
Sower is an installation in which the crane holds a green basket in his hand. Sieved from the hanging garden are seeds of next spring.
Usually overlooked, cranes symbolise investment, progress and development; cranes are »uberarchitecture«, always one step above the building below until dismantled and displaced to an ever-new construction site. Crane is a metaphor for construction workers. Their power is compared to the workforce they can replace.
When put in the unexpected role of a sower, we liberate and symbolically transform its role in society. From a suspended garden the Sower holds, the seeds sprinkle the ground below.
